Kutlu holds a bachelor’s degree in Ceramic and Glass from Mimar Sinan University of Fine Arts (1998), where he graduated as the top student. He completed his master’s degree in Ceramics at Hacettepe University. He works with various ceramic clays, glass, and screen printing techniques.  He has held nine solo exhibitions and participated in numerous group exhibitions both in Turkey and abroad. His awards include several accolades from the T.C. Ministry of Culture and Tourism State Ceramic Competition (1997, 1998, 2002, 2012) and the TRT Ceramic Competition.
